General Description:

NOTE: This course is a prerequisite to Course #821

Static Stepless is a solid state, secondary reactor control
system for overhead cranes. The curriculum starts
with motor control and basic magnetic theory then progresses
through the specifics of the system.

Course Objectives:

• Understand the functions of all major system components
• Use schematic diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot the electrical
system
• Understand the procedures used to test for proper operation
• Explain proper adjustment procedures for the system
• Identify and correct motor problems

• Wound rotor motors and Magnetorque operation
