General Description:
This course is designed as refresher training for the experienced operator and to provide basic crane fundamentals to the novice operator for all types of overhead cranes; cab,
floor, and remote operated.

This course is also designed to provide maintenance and
production managers with an overview of the maintenance
practices necessary to ensure maximum productivity from
lifting equipment.
Course Objectives:
This seminar covers all the OSHA/ASME requirements for
overhead crane operation including the reasons behind the
requirements.
• Identify applicable federal rules and regulations pertaining
to material handling
• Describe proper operation of overhead cranes
• Determine responsibilities of personnel associated with
overhead cranes
• Describe liability for personnel and equipment
• Identify rejection criteria for equipment
• List required inspections and their periodicity
• Establish records to meet federal safety guidelines
